Hi everyone,
im a new crackberry user and i was given this BB 8700g from t-mobile. i have AT&T i want to unlock the phone so i can use it with my network. i have already tried calling t-mobile customer service asking them for the unlock code cuz im traveling internationally (total BS) but they wouldnt give up ANY info unless i have a t-mobile account open wit them. So i tried callin AT&T service with the same story thinking maybe my network could offer better support and they wont process my case because the phone is not an AT&T phone but rather with t-mobile. Im out of ideas i dont really want to pay a third party vendor for the code ..... any suggestionson on how i can go about unlocking this BB 8700g? thanks people.
nope if you cant get tmo to do it then you're sol unless you know someone with a tmo account that could put their sim in it. otherwise try GSM PhoneSource - When Only The Best Will Do
.... damn i was kinda afraid of that.
so looks like im going to have to pay the 30 bucks to unlock the phone. thanks blueberry23!
you think the 8700g is worth it? just curious on your thoughts about his device. cuz im trying to get a curve but for now this BB 8700g just kinda fell into my lap for free so yeah.
Actually since all the new phones are supposed to be unlocked, then TMO should be required to unlock it whether you have an account with them or not.
This all stems for the change in the law that allows people to use any carrier they want regardless of who they bought their phone from. (excluding Sprint and Verison since they don't use sim cards).
Really? I have never heard of this law before .... thats pretty damn cool but i just paid for my unlock code from the link and my device is working fine now. i doubt TMO would've gave me the unlock code if i told them about the law you said .... their customer service reps are assholes.
