Noob question here. I have a 8310 Curve with AT&T. Getting tired of waiting on them for 4.5. What risk or changes would I have if I used another carriers OS? Does it change anything on the phone when you use another carriers OS?

Ok, and ty. Glad to be here. I guess I was mostly concerned about changing OS from another carrier has no effect on who your carrier is correct. Ex, If I use Tmobiles OS, I don't change to Tmobile, right? I assume not, but jsut wanted to verify.

no you dont. the os is the operating system of the device, not the carrier

    Thanks all...

One last question, when you are installing the new O.S. and it gives the warning that you will have to re-activate the phone if you continue, what does that mean?

So, how do you re-activate if you do the upgrade. I didn't see it mentioned in the OS thread.
