Hey i've been looking through the posts, and sorry if this has been answered previously. But is there a way of transferring songs and pictures from the computer to the bb? I installed the software cd that came along with the phone and i've been fiddling with that but I have yet to get it. If someone know's please help me out.

depending on what version of desktop manager you have installed you should either have the generic drag/drop option of moving files or you should have the Roxio Media Manager installed with desktop manager both of them would be sufficiant for moving files to your BB, if u do not have a media card your transfers will be limited though as BB does not have a large amnt of space on the device it's self, so a media card is reccomended with a media card and mass storage enabled you can just drag and drop the files into the card and view on your device, as long as they are compatible of course.

Your profile shows you have the 8700g. Does that model even have a music player? I thought only the 81xx,83xx, and 88xx had media capabilities.

I dont believe so but i want to put the songs as my ring tone. I no you can download the ringtones off the web but I currently do not have the plan so I'm just stuck with my computer for internet. The desktop manager i have is a simple window that has the buttoms "Application loader", "Backup and Restore", Intellisync", and "Redirector Settings"

Hmm, since I am on a (much) older device, I'm not sure. I am going to hazard a guess to say that you can't. I think you need a data plan to add ringtones. Perhaps a person with a newer BB can confirm or correct me?

I just remembered, the new desktop manager has the media sync options. Try to download that and see if there is an option. I am not sure it will work, but it is an idea.

You can also try to email the ringtone to yourself if all else fails and then try to save it and apply it.

I think you missed his post above about not having a data plan...

Don't ask me why you wouldn't have a data plan, but to each their own.
