    Hey everyone,

I've started reading around the forums and different websites and have some concerns about app accessing for Verizon customers. I have a blackberry pearl.

I have the unlimited data plan from verizon but am concerned about being billed for accessing google maps and such. I know regular internet connections such as google and text services won't charge me but since verizon offers GPS services I just want to make sure I won't get dinged for using google maps.

Also, how can I add and remove programs from my blackberry that I find I later don't need? Finally, do I have any control over where the program installs? I have a memory card and want to make sure I won't run out of space on my device when I'm installing apps.

    Thanks,
    JW

I have Verizon too and use google all the time. Never been charged with using google.

You can add/remove programs through DM.

I'm not sure if you can add apps to your memory card. Maybe another CB brother/sister can help you with that.

Google uses data for its maps. If you have an unlimited data plan, you don't have to worry about using Google or BBMaps.

You add and remove programs using the Application Loader on your PC, or by Over The Air downloads. You have no control over where the program installs. Programs have to run in device memory. You can put pictures, ringtones, videos, and music on a Media Card (Rim's name for a microSD card) and save your device memory for applications. You can also perfrom the Stoner Procedure, linked in my sig, to remove pre-installed apps and items that you don't need. That frees up memory as well.

Welcome to the forums! For good, general information, be sure to check out the Getting Started Guide and the BlackBerry 101 Lecture Series under the Newbies tab at the top of the page.

I should clarify I checked my plan and have the e-mail and web plan for blackberry for $30 per month. Is this the same thing as unlimited data?

Thanks for the welcomes! I've already added the crackberry launcher to my phone!
