I am so bummed. I chipped some of the silver off the round housing piece that is around the track ball of 8830. Just got it from Verizon two months ago...any idea how (if possible) to get it fixed??? Thanks!

Sounds like you'd need a new casing. But, how on earth did you do that? I wonder, was that one in particular poorly made...

Wow... how the heck did you do that?

Those things usually can withstand quite a licking... must have been ove 10 foot drop for a chip like that.

(LMAO...HAHAHAHAHAHA) sorry not laughing because you got a chip, I'm laughing because I got the same problem, in the SAME place! At first, I thought there was somethign stuck on the silver housing, so I decided to scratch it off, but I soon found out that the small speck was the silver paint coming off! MAYBE IT'S A DEFECT IN THESE 8830's! (yeah, maybe not, but you got to admit, it's still funny that two users have the EXACT same problem) If you can't replace that part, my suggestion is to go to a local craft store and buy silver/metal touch up paint, that's what I'm planning to do, kind of pissed when I see a black area surrounding my trackball..

I also have a brand new BB 8830 (about a month) but the black paint off on the keys are chipping off. Pretty upset about it. It has never been bumped or dropped. It is never out of case unless being used. Anyone else having this trouble?

I had this same problem with my 8830. I hope it doesn't happen to my 8330 :/

Welcome to CRACKberry!! I heard about the replacement site called replacement8310parts.com instead of typing 8310, input your device and try that out. Good luck, have fun, and enjoy!!
