    Now that's funny...
It's a pretty good ballpark too.

    what about a 1gb?
    is that a good size?

I have a 1gb card. For what I do, it works, but I'm not a heavy media user. But an 8gb card for 33 bucks, as pltaylor mentioned, sounds like a deal.

    Yes.
    A 1g card is fine.
What will happen over time is you'll get a bunch of pics and songs stored, then you'll see you can watch movies and get podcasts, before you know it, you'l have an 8g card, then the 16s and 32s will come out.
Also keep in mind, more apps are going towards the cards for storage as the os improves features.

Yes it stays in. The size is relevant to the user. 1g is fine for some. But what your going to find is the more you get the more you'll want. I started with a 2g from best buy and I paid more for it than the 4g it replaced and the 8g I have now put together. So shop around. The best deals are online. You'll thank me when your in line at the DMV watching a movie while everybody else looks pissed off.

I had a 512 a while back and you can put roughly 3-5 cd's of music on that amout of memory. Make sure you convert using roxio media manager to shrink mp3 file down a bit first.

Yes on 512, usually after converting a 700-800 mb avi file to compatible format that will play on berry will be about 300 mb. So you can have 1 movie and a cd or so of songs that will fit on that size card. But as others have stated you will want to upgrade to a larger micro sd card, they are getting really cheap to buy so if you have not bought one yet go w/ 2g and higher card.

When you download application OTA, does it go to the on board memory or does it go to the SD card. Do you have to select where you want to save the application you've just downloaded.

Apps go to device memory. Media (music, ringtones, pictures and video) should go to the media card.

Last I heard, my os will not support an 8g card. I'm using the tmo-supplied software on an 8320. Does the new OS resolve this? Sounds like a great deal I'd love to take advantage of.
