I just got a Verizon 8830 and tried to install Desktop Manager. DM installed but not the Media Manager. During installation, it showed that Media Manager was being installed but when I opened DM, there wasn't any Media Manager.
I called VZW but it said it was a third party software. When I called RIM, it said I had to pay for the technical support.
To get free support from RIM, call your carrier, in this case Verizon, and have them connect you! Then you get it free...
But, to correct your issue, on your PC, go to the Control Panel / Add & Remove programs. Uninstall Desktop Manager. Also, from the C drive remove the Research In Motion directory...
Now, download the latest Desktop Manager from RIM or your carrier, and then install.
Ps: make sure your pc has all the latest updates...
Thanks for your response. However, I cannot delete the following two files from
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Transaction Manager\ComponentData\TraceLogs
resulting in not being able to delete the RIM folder.
