I just got a blackberry curve 8310 today from someone, and I want to use the BBM feature. How would I do this? I already found my PIN on my phone, but contacts I add aren't getting notifications and I am not receiving the messages my friends try to send me. Am I supposed to set something up?
First, I'm only guessing that you have a data plan since that is required to use BBM.
There are two basic methods to add contacts to your BBM contact list.
1) Add a contact by entering the PIN of the device you want to add.
2) Add a contact by entering an email address associated with the BlackBerry you want to add.
Once you enter either the PIN or email of the contact you wish to add, a message will be sent to that contact advising that wish to add them to your contact list in BBM. That person then either accepts or rejects your request.
