I don't have a data plan (yet) and it is allowing me to access the internet. My old BB used to have a little WiFi logo in the corner and this doesn't. Is it charging me by minute or is it simply connmecting to WiFi? If so why is there no logo present?

If I remember correctly, there is no wifi on the 8310...only the 8320.

How is it allowing me to use the internet then? Am I paying per minute?

You are paying .01/kb....I'd stop now. The 8310 is not equipped with wi-fi, you are thinking of the 8320.

If I were you I would call my carrier and set up a data plan for a month or so and then cancel it to avoid an astronomical charge on your bill. Good luck and Welcome to Crackberry!!

Yea 8320 is the only curve with wifi, and just because you don't have a data plan doesn't mean you can't use the internet. I would stop now like assortedhippo said and get a data plan
