I'd rather have devo-max lol but when I worked in South England I realised how little they care about the country north of Watford and it's bad for all of the rest of the country to be ruled by Tory aristocrats in London

Stop the Tory bashing please.. there all as bad as each other, and dont give a monkies about the avg joe.

Who else would we have in power after the last election... Labour??. They got us into this mess, and wanted to carry on spending to get us out.

The only way things will ever change is if the banks collapse or there's another world war. Otherwise the status quo will remain.

I doubt the Tories would ever have given us devolved parliaments if they had remained in power.

Among politicians, conservatives are the most repulsive - the worst of a bad lot

Notwithstanding, we need to transition to a less populist (vote based) and more technocratic system where decisions are made intelligently and in a planned manner to maximise the wellbeing of everyone and not just a few powerful lobbies at the expense of everyone else.

    A modern form of Marxism

That's great have different parliaments but do you stop. For example... why should the northwest not have its own parliament.

Mark that's exactly what I mean... the regions of England deserve their own local devolved parliaments too. Even London has its own mayor and political system. All the regions of the UK should be governed on a day to day basis by those who live and work there, while the national government takes care of defence, foreign relations etc

I agree with you there.. not sure how it would work.

I would assume that you would give local councils more power, as we still need a state government for banking issues, law and so on
