I just got my 8830 today and bought a 2GB micro sd card. The problem I have is that I don't know how to store files to the micro sd card. Can someone give me some pointers on how to do that? All help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Connect your 8830 to a PC running Desktop Manager (DM). When prompted on the device to activate 'mass storage', select yes. From DM, double click on Media Manager, and from there it's drag and drop...

do you have to have DM running on a computer to access the files stored on the MicroSD card?

because I would like to be able to use my phone essentially like a usb thumb drive

try rebooting your bb first. Then format it through your bb.

Try formatting it on your pc first, fat32, then put it in your berry and reformat to add the media files.

I would rather not tether my phone and do it that way. I like to just take my card out of my phone and put it into my comp and do the old "drag and drop" method :-). However I do have a pearl so my card is a lot easier to access! That is the only thing i dont like about the curve... you have to do a battery pull just to get the damn card out.

The card came FAT and the curve said it could not format it, so I put it in my PC and formatted it to FAT32 and my Curve still says it cant format it
