I just got this 7290 RIM this week! I am attempting to develop a dependency...
I could not resist getting this user name and email addy on this site..I aspire to moderate the newbies!! I can make phone calls, use my bluetooth, slide the berry out of it's holster, even if I am a bit spastic about it!! I can navigate around the menu, but I don't have a CLUE what I am doing with this device. Today in the doctor's office, I was turning heads with my "alien head gear"! People look at me like I'm schizo when I'm using the bluetooth...it's terribly funny! I am so jazzed that this site is up, and it's right on time!!
Google news is such a nosey program..but, this is one case where I'm glad it saw fit to notify me of this site!
I look forward to learning from all of you old school junquies!

My friends and family hate it when I have my BT headset on because they never know if I'm talking to them, someone on the phone or myself. Life without my BB would be more difficult then I could ever imagine, I've tried the Treo route a few times to try to break the addiction and it just won't break.

Learn it, accept the BB addiction.

Agreed Audit, started out with a BB7250 (with Bell), switched to Treo (which completely sucked)....then to a 8700r (with Rogers), and now to my newest unit the 8703e (with Telus)....can't be without my Berry!.....

Ps..yes I do get around the carriers...lol...but Telus seems to have the best coverage by far.

You know you have an addiction when you check message queue on your crackberry even though you already know for sure there are no new messages there...

That pretty much sums up my level of "crackwhoredom"!

First thing I fire up in the morning is a RDP session to my BES server and watch the stats. Then I fire up another RDP session to my mail server and watch the logs for that. If I see a mail come through and it doesn't hit my BB before my Outlook, I start looking at signal and wondering what's going on.

I still continue to get my hourly e-mails from the script on my personal server that sends me a test e-mail to my BB to let me know that e-mail is working still.

I know right... The thing that amazes people that I work with the most when they get a crackberry is that they get bzzzzed for email on their device before they see it in Lotus Notes. Truly awesome.

I got my 8703e a little more than a week ago, and I went from the initial hate of it to absolute admiration . Now, I have to have it with me all the time.

I happened upon this site, and so far I like what I see. I also d/l the crackberry launcher for my BB

    Yeah, I'm officially addicted.

Why did you 'hate' it initially?

Kind of a long story. I'll try to keep it brief

I opened a new account with Sprint and was at the end of my 30 trial. I had a regular phone and needed a PDA type as my work had really increased over those 30 days.

I originally wanted the Q, but they didn't have any. The Treos were just too expensive, so I made a quick, last minute pick of the 8703e. Now, I never had any experience with a BB, and the supplied manual was pathetic.

Within two hours of my purchase, I just hated it. Yet, once I found out everything it could do and how versatile it was, I was hooked! Within 24 hours I Couldn't let it go.

My BB experience is one of coincidence, but I don't regret a thing now.

Verizon put together a very nice movie DVD illustrating all the highlights and navigation of the 8703e. If you are interested I can send you a copy.

I have to say that without the net and "searches", the BB would be a nightmare to start using initially but you are right - once you get to grips with it, it rocks...

And i still find little tricks....

I think if the BB was JUST for email, I wouldn't love it as much.

For example, I was on my way home today, and wanted to get some stamps (you know, I have bills to pay, and these stupid one's have to be mailed in!), so, on my BB I went to Beyond411. In there I entered Staples, and since my 'home' profile is already setup, it knew the zip code to check. Within 5 seconds, I had the address and phone number of the closest Staples to me.

I even called them from within the menu, and verified that they had stamps!!!

    1-Nil to the BlackBerry!
