    Hey All,

My first post here at Crackberry. I have hunted around a bit but can't seem to find anything about this. This has happened twice since I got my BB a couple of weeks ago. I get this email on my Roadrunner account once but it hits my BB multiple times, the first time it repeated 169 times all with in minutes of each other and the second time it was only about 40 or so. The email was obviously a junk/spam email and I blocked and reported it as spam thru Roadrunner, but I can't for the life of figure out why I got it repeated so many times on my BB.

Thanks for any help you all can provide!

No, I haven't done that, but it doesn't happen with all emails, just this one particular junk/spam email and only from my Roadrunner account, I have my Gmail account set up as well and it hasn't happened from any of those emails.

Same situation! Am searching for answer! A few days ago received 313 msgs from my personal acct on my Blackberry Pearl 8130- all had Cialis and Viagra in subject - minutes apart! Did not show up on my laptop or internet access to personal email acct. Today, 284 msgs on my on BB (same Cialis and Viagra) - not on my laptop or internet access to account! How can I stop this. It takes time to delete all those msgs plus check for real msgs!

Welcome 2 CB... Maybe it's roadrunner. I've never had those issues with gmail/yahoo or even AOL (yeah, I'm surprised with AOL not having spam)

WOW!!!! That's a huge problem alright! I don't think it has anything to do with Roadrunner internet service. I do know that the blackberry data service is usually much faster at getting emails to the Blackberry devices before they get to your actual email account that you have with your regular online email service. I think it's a spam flooding issue. I know it would seriously **** me off too.Blocking the spam emails on you Roadrunner email account won't stop it from getting delivered to your blackberry device through the Blackberry data service. I would delete your email service books and go online to the blackberry email setup/settings page and delete your email address from there too. Start all over and resetup your email account again and let the setup resend the service books to your phone again. If you still have this email spam/flooding issue then I would definetely go to Roadrunner account and create a new email address. In the future be careful what websites you visit and avoid registering your email address with websites that are not 100% safe. Also try going into your desktop/laptop web browser options and change your cookie handling to "prompt" you on every cookie attempt so you can allow only the ones you know are safe and trust. This alone will greatly decrease these types of problems. Delete all of your temporary internet cache and history often too. There are so many things you need to doo these days to keep your computer safe from this stuff that I can't mention them all but believe me I don't have these problems anymore...Hint...Clean install and Kaspersky internet security from day one!!!

you guys are not the only one's it's happening to. I also have a RR primary e-mail account, and have been chatting a little with a BB user from Cinci. that is also having the same problem. They concacted BB suppport, and support told them to delete RR e-mail on the BB, and then reinstall.. Nope that didn't work. It's gotta be an issue with spam between BB and RR. What I have done when the spam starts to fly, is have the BB not sync with the RR account. Then just check RR when I get home. But that defeets the purpose of the BB.

    another discussion about the e-mails.
