I am looking for a new phone (lost my old one - really old one) and thought about what I would need out of a phone over the next three years.

I have decided that I will need email, access to calenders; ie/ google calenders etc., and possibly GPS would be a nice addition.

Basically, I am just wondering if I will need an 8900, or if a regular phone would suffice. The only thing deterring me from the 8900 is the size... I do like phones to be on the small side.

Anyways, any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Get a Pearl.

The Curve 8900 is pretty small... in fact when I was messing around with it, I found it to be too small.

    Welcome to CB!

Any BB is a great BB! The 8900 is the newest edition of my phone, the 8330, and if Sprint offered it, I would be upgrading. Let us know how you like the phone, uh, device

    Enjoy the addiction™

I had a Pearl 8120 and it was a great devive. I now have the Pearl Flip and I love it...although it's only a half QWERTY keyboard just like its older siblings (81XX). That's a turn-off to most old-timer BB users and some new ones. If I were you, I would try out both devices and see what the right fit is for you.

You're asking the wrong person because I just got my first BB, the Curve. But I'm also a cellphone junkie and seem to upgrade all the time because I like the newest features ect. One thing I HAD to have when I was looking for a new phone was the full keyboard. Other than that, I was pretty open to other features. Keep us up to date and welcome!

So I got the 8900, It is actuall pretty small compared to what I thought blackberries were... Its even hard to type its so small, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I have one problem.. I can't use it! it says 'insert sim card' but it is in, and worked for the first few minutes fine... anyone know a solution?

When you say it says to insert sim after a couple of minutes have you checked to make sure it was seated down all the way and locked?

I was always thinking Pearl because I like small phones... I ended up getting the Bold :~|

You'd be blown away at how small the 8900 is and you just need to hold one in your hand. If you haven't held a curve yet... do that in the mean time. My $0.02

Just all comes down to the touch and feel and will it fit in your pocket... all up to you
