Sadly the only BB being shipped in the US with higher than 4.3OS is the new Pearl 8220 with 4.6.0.XXX. Theoreticslly most of the US carriers should make OS 4.5 standard soon (they we have been thinking that for 6 months!

For apps, I normally recommend the following list:
    - Viigo (rss reader, flight info, sports scores, etc.)
    - Infospace findit (great for finding businesses, movie time, lots more)
    - Opera Mini (alternative web browser)
    - Mara Tick (great list program)
    - Alarms Pro (multi alarm program)
    - Google Maps (map and search program)
    - Boxtone Insight (diagnostic info tracker)
    - worldmate live (great if you travel, flight info, book hotels, etc.)
    - Weather eye (weather program from the weather channel)

You can google and find most of those. If you need links PM me and I can send them to you.

    Welcome to CB!

Sprint hasn't officially released an OS upgrade for the 8330, but you can upgrade it yourself, safely and fairly easy.

You can upgrade it to version 4.5.0.77 which has several enhancements. When I did my upgrade, I had an improvement in memory, an error fix, and some add ons.

The thread that discusses upgrading your OS is here:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/new...anguage-75458/

It worked for me. It should also work for you.

    Best of luck!

this is not a smart thing to do though if you are still new to blackberry. first get comfortable with your device and the lingo, then if you feel comfortable, do it

oh and btw for any sprint users out there... Data Plan Basic or Date Plan Premier? I am leaning towards the Premier but i wont to get another opinion.

thanks everyone for all your help! i deeply appreciate it.
I am new to this whole BB thing and I dont want to mess anything up.

No the myspace app is not out but I got it bookedmarked in my browser. I have the upgraded data plan cause I share w/my husband and didn't want to worry about it.
Just remember that w/sprint many of us have problems w/mms picture texting to those w other services. We have picture mail and I have yet to be able to send a pm to my friend w/ verizon no matter what I try. I'm waiting for the update. Overall I'm happy
