I want to buy my first BB. I am currently with Verizon so my Curve will be free after rebate. Verizon does not offer WiFi. Is it worth switching carriers just to get a WiFi capable BB?

Only you can decide whether wifi is worth the effort and possible cost of switching carrier. Why do you think you need wifi?
Also consider the service provided (or not provided) by other carriers, and the BB model you would select.
I have wifi on my BB and have yet to use it and I have had it for almost a year. So that is up to you if you are in an area that you will get WIFI go for it you get UMA calling and web surfing ..... up to yo,
I have thought about it and even though I would like a better phone than the curve 8330 (I do not want the Storm) I am going to stick with Verizon. I've never had a problem with their phone service or customer service. I think the storm could revolutionize their company if it doesn't get over produced like the Razor did. I think if they focus on quality and make the next storm truly a competitor to the Iphone (better than the iphone) then they will be alright.
I have an IPOD. I love my IPOD. I played around with an Iphone today and was really not impressed. I just don't like the touch screen yet. I don't like the storm or the Iphone. I still like buttons! Even though the capabilities of the new touch screens are awesome. I will wait a couple years and maybe they will impress me more.
I hope blackberry is ready for demand.
