Bold Problems

Hi im new bb user, just got a BOLD 3 days ago. Im experiencing problems with the bb messenger, when i click to open the app im getting this message:
Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException.

Please Help!

Try a battery pull.

If the problem persists, try a reset. (Options --> Security Options --> General Settings --> Hit the menu key --> Select 'Wipe Handheld"

Sorry if the path is a bit off (lost my BB :()

Also if that fails...

* Download the 4.6 OS
* Back-up your data
* Download and wipe your berry with JL_CMDER
* Install the 4.6 OS
* Reload from back-up
