- How do I close open (but unused) applications on my BlackBerry device?
Until now, I have almost always used smartphones powered by a Microsoft operating system, which always requires the user to manually close open (but unused) applications...
On my BlackBerry device, I can see how to switch between open applications, but not how to close those running in the background!
Any ideas?

There will always be a minimum of 5 open. Homescreen, phone, BBMessenger; Browser and Messages.
Also, don't use application switcher too much as it's a known issue that it saps free memory on the device.01-17-08 01:00 AMLike 0 - The smallest I can get the list down to is 6 icons on my BlackBerry 8300 Curve; I cannot seem to make the list any smaller, not matter how hard I try.
Also, you were saying that the application switcher will fill up my handset's memory over time, but I should be able to clear this by switching the handset off for a minute or so, right?

Also, if the task manager uses up memory over time, wouldn't I be able to clear this (the mrmory) by simply switching the phone off for a minute or so?
