Blackberry noob in anticipation
Hi all,
I am a recent (or soon to be) convert to the Blackberry. I need an email sending and always-accessible IM client for work/personal stuff. I was going for the Samsung BlackJack II, but I had bad experiences with previous Microsoft mobile platforms.
I work as an assistant IT administrator for TEES (Texas Engineering Experiment Station) at Texas A&M University. All the professors and administrators rave about how much they like their BBs, and I kind of wanted to see what it was all about. I also have to configure these devices to work with BES and such, but one cannot do so blindly.
I get paid on Friday, and I was having a hard time picking between the Red BJII and the red 8310 earlier this week. Either way I was going to get a great phone, but it is email/customization/OS/3rd party apps that sold me to the BB Curve. 1) I got to walk around with a BB holstered to my belt like a bigwig would 2) Direct Push of my work email to see instantaneously the email sent from multiple software diagnostic packages on our servers (important to know immedaitely when the UPS gets turned on so I can shut the machines down.)
GPS and other features sold me even further. I now have no doubt in my mind about getting the red BB Curve. I just can't wait till payday!
