Hi, I'm Melissa and new to this forum. I'm not really "new" to the blackberry I'm on my third one (I used to have the pearl and the 8700 and now I have the 8800). My problem isn't new to me either --- but I'd love some help finding the solution.
In blackberry messenger when I go to add a contact (yes they are BB users) it sends the request, puts them in "pending" and they accept my request but then I get a request on screen from myself. With this they never move out of pending and i'm stuck talking to myself.
I noticed I had issues when I added contacts that were already in my addy book. New adds never had a problem. Just troubleshooting...Maybe they can request you? Maybe you can try adding them by email?
LOL I wouldn't recommend it per se, but I'm just sharing that the only time I have issues adding people is when they're already in my address book. Have them try to add you first though.
So I had my friends add me and it's working -- but one friend isn't showing up for example it says "contacts 2/3" so third is there but invisible even though I know he's available.
Even though you guys are adding people, tell them to request you guys too. Funny, same exact thing happened to me earlier today and when both of us requested each other, it went through. This is not scientific at all but give it a shot.
So I just got a replacement BB so obviously I got a new pin.... Now when I try to request all my old contacts they are stuck in pending mode. What I notice is that all the ppl I added via email I can still chat with. Anyone who I added via PIN I cant speak to them. And then when I try to add them again they are stuck in pending mode... UGh I am frustrated as all heck
For everyone having the same issue. I suggest you REMOVE everyone in your list. Do a battery pull, make sure your name in BlackBerry Pin Messenger is something simple, not with 'funny' characters (causes issues on the Pearls)...
Now, add a few people, via Pin, to test, and then go from there...
This is weird! In the beginning I was able to add people to my contact list for bb messenger using pin. Now when I want to add someone or send someone new a message, the only option is by e-mail.
Is there something I should do to get the pin option back?
I request a pin to my friend and he never receives it. I made sure that the pin was right and everything and still he doesn't receive it.
Can anyone help me?! And can you try adding me to see if i receive it!?
