i have recently bought a blackberry curve 8300 and it keeps automatically deleting old text and phone log messages. i do understand it has a memory leak(wish i had known that before i bought the phone) and i was wondering how do i check my memory available and used? i have searched every option on this phone and can not figure it out.

The best thing you can do is get a media card so that photos you take aren't using valuable memory space.

The biggest cause of memory issues is 3rd party applications that don't allocate memory properly. The other cause is using application switcher (alt + esc) or from the home screen press menu key and select "switch application." RIM says that using this 25 times will cause memory to be depleted and the device will start it's memory cleaning process (deleting emails/call logs, etc.)
