NO you do not. You have a BB and a pin # that is enough. You can but apps hwere from the app store on home page, or handango.com or mobihand.com. there are other but those are the main ones i use. I thinj cm app store and mobihand are connected.
Your PIN number can be found in several places. 1. On the lable on the box it came in. 2. When the keyboad is showing press the alr Shift and H keys at the same time and the Help Me window opens. Your PIN is listed there. If this does not work look in the User Manual.
