I was wondering is it possible for my blacberry bold not to automaticially turn on once I take it out of the pouch?
It makes putting it to standby pointless and kills the battery a bit more!

help? anyone? any idea on the standby issue? because putting it in standby is virtually useless for it turns on anyway when taken from pouch, anyone know of a setting? or is that normal?

I don't believe there is a setting for this, at least none that I have found. I've tried for quite some time and don't see anything.

This is normal and, as far as I know, not changeable. You could, however, buy a non-magnetic case (if they're made for Bold) to keep it from turning on. But then you're losing some of the functionality of the phone.

I use my Bold extensively, taking it in and out of the holster very frequently, and get plenty of battery life. Are you charging each night?
