    Hi all,

I'm a newbie but I'm already an addict. I was wondering if someone could provide some insight into PINs. What are they for? Why should I share mine/seek others?

    Please enlighten me! Thanks!

PINs are the unique series of numbers assigned to each device, much like a serial number. They are most commonly used for blackberry messenger. You can add other blackberry users to your contact list via their PIN.

Is BlackBerry messenger more "live" than sending SMS texts? Is it like AOL Instant messenger?

Yes. Just like any other IM client.

As sunkast said, yes. Messages arrive in reak time, and the app displays when the other person is typing. It also uses data, which is handy if you do not have a plan with unlimited texting.
