just got my berry yesterday

is there any way of blocking ppl from bbm?

you can't ''BLOCK'' but you can either:

- Ignore their requests ( delete their requests ) by adding them to the ''ignore list''

- Delete the contact who is bothering you and check ''ignore further invitations''

wow! . . . it was in 2008!

I too try to help ppl here . . I love the satisfaction which comes after knowing that my advice/suggestion had worked and solved their problem or met with what they were looking for
