    When I first got this bb 8300 I had one of my downloaded ringers notifying me when I had a new bb message ..now no matter what I do there is no noise that let's me know I have one just the asteric ... Please help .... Mabeach

    Have you tried adjusting your profiles? While in profiles hit Menu>Advanced, then highlight the profile you're using and edit it.
