Up to how many applications can I load in my curve 8320. And how would I know if I've downloaded too many?

There are too many variables to answer the "how many" question. But it's easy to tell when you have too many. Just check your Options / Status / File Free. If it's below 12 000 000 bytes, you begin to risk low memory problems. Below 12 000 000, and you have too many apps.

The first step you need to take is to perform the CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that's linked in my sig. That'll help you free up additional memory by showing you how to delete the preloaded stuff that you don't need. It's also an excellent OS tutorial, and a great way to get familiar with your device.
