    Also, any reason why a friend and I both have pending messages regarding each other for BB messenger but neither of us ever got an alert that we wanted to add each other?

    ok when i get to advanced, there's no edit option

    and yes, we requested each other via pin and both have data plans

    You have to press menu to pull up the menu button.

    Try re requesting each other.

    You can edit that via their address book information.

    Unfortunately, you cannot assign specific ringtones for text messages from one individual. This is the one feature I miss that my LG had.
