Hey everyone, so after much debate and research I had decided to get a curve 8320 over the new pearl 8120 that came out for tmobile. However, I was reading the "out of the box" review on this site for the curve and became a little concerned over all the comments about problems encountered with the Wi-Fi and bugs. Now, Wi-Fi isn't a huge reason why I'm getting a BB but I do see myself using it every once in a while. So, I wanted to know if this is a factor I need to seriously weigh in my decision between the new pearl and the curve and if there are any other problems with the curve experienced by a number of users that I should know about.

As a side note this site has been very informative and I foresee many wasted hours learning more about BB in the future. Thanks.

I think the issue with wifi is more about what you are tying to do with it as opposed to it not working / being a problem. I am sure there will be plenty of people to chime in about it.

i read about people having to do a partial reboot and often times that would fix whatever problem they were having. Is that something I can expect to have to do once I get it?

I think a lot of the wi-fi issues with all BB's are with the compatibility with routers. My 8820 will work great with some routers and not well with others.

You will love the Curve. I haven't had any issues with the wifi at all. In fact, the wifi is very helpful if your in a spot where there is little or no signal. Not only will you get faster speeds but you will also still be able to make a receive calls. The only issue I have one in a great while the phone picks up my wifi but I might have to do a battery pull. It's weird but hardly happens.
