I have owned a palm and a Dell PDA...the palm was several years ago and if the battery died all information was lost. Is there any dangers of losing info with a BB? Since mine isn't due to arrive until Wednesday, do I need to buy a memory card? I won't use the phone for music. Also, can Verizon do a phonebook transfer or does the Backup Assistant work?

    Thanks!

Just do a regular back up on Desktop manager and you will be fine.

no your info will be safe. when you get it install the desktop manager cd that comes with it and you can backup everything there. and yes the phonebook can be transfered. if you are going to be storing pictures on the device you should get a memory card.

The BB will shut off before the battery is completely dead. You should get in the habit of charging or topping off your battery as often as possible. I charge mine every night regardless of how much battery is left.

As for the memory card, it is best to get one so that you can store files, pictures, ringtones, videos, etc. on it.
