Is there a way to "unsend" a BBM? in outlook or some other emails you can retract a message that has not been read. is it possible with a BB?

No, it's not an email service. BBM is an instant messaging service.

No, darling. It's like every other IM client in the world - once it's gone, it's gone.

That's why you don't text while intoxicated ;P

    Blackberry 49.99 x 2yr
BBM service extra 29.99 + plan
Drunk BBMing your ex-while your hooking up with a one night stand in an alley behind the bar, and regretting it the next day and wishing you could recall the photos you sent, PRICELESS!!!!

ok none of that really happened, but I am sure we have all sent the "one" message we could recall.

supposedly if you go to delete the contact right after you send it, before the read it, it will no go through...

Also realize that retract is not universal either. Once that email hits the other email server, it cannot be retracted. If it is on the same email server (particularly if it is an exchange server), it can be retracted.
(I know it strays a little off topic but we recently had someone learn this the hard way.)

Better come up with a great excuse.

"I was showing my friend my BlackBerry. He was trying out BBM, and he chose to send to you. It wasn't me who sent it"

just delete the person from your contacts and the conversation will close on their side also provided you don't see the "R", you're all good. then re-add them later and make up some excuse as to why you removed them.
