I don't mean after it downloads...I mean right when I click on the link.

It says: find or save. Doesn't show an option to run. Which one did you select?

nothing like that showed up when i clicked the link.
when i clicked the link it said "Fix my Blackberry Mesenger!"
And then I clicked that and it took me to download.

are you sure you are clicking:
    http://yourcbcfamily.org/bb/curvebbm/ ?

    EDIT:
are you clicking that link from your computer?
if so that is an OTA go on your phone and click the link!!!
it will download straight to your phone...no need to do it over the computer.

that link was created so people can just download it to their phones.
    EASY BUTTON!!

I'm used to sending something once and it being delivered. Not with an
empty checkmark. If you have no problem copying a message, pasting it and
sending it again in hopes that it will be delivered then that's great for you. I
    like convenience.
LMAO! You mean you're lazy and something so little that takes maybe 3 seconds to do and rarely needed to be done is too unconvenient for you. Gotta love the hard working american life! No wonder our country is in such great condition!

And keep the thread on topic.

Or maybe he just doesn't want to fiddle with a leaked version and wait for the official one that is supposed to work correctly!

    sorry back on topic:

anyone need some help with there bbm!

I fiddled with it. But I won't complain about how it wasn't working right for
me. I made this thread to hopefully ease the tension of all the "How do I get
the old BBM back" thread uprising.

Rogelio is entitled to his opinion, just take it to off-topic. Even make a thread
"Forever29 is a lazy American" for all I care.

I think the server has been getting overloaded all together. People that
usually wouldn't use BBM before are liking the look and are deciding to use it.
It's not necessarily BBM 5.0 that is buggy (which some is), but it's an RIM
    server issue.

I've tried to get a new OS, and downgrade back to BBM 4.7, but when I try and install the OS, it still shows BBM 5.0. Can someone please help me get back to the original.

Okay here's my own little update. I went from 5.0 and went back to the
regular BBM. I soon realized this. Like Crucial_Xtreme had stated over the
weekend, the message delivery thing and other problems associated are
simply problems on RIM's server. It makes sense....

Since Friday and over the weekend, people who don't normally use BBM, and
those that don't use it that much are now using it plenty. I am convinced
that the overload is what is causing these slow delays here and there. I've
used the regular BBM for the past 2 days and those slow delays were even
happening on there. Leading me to believe that yes, RIM are the ones with
    the server issue of overload.

I've installed 5.0 a few hours ago and everything is working just fine. If there
are slow delays again, it's happening to everybody, not just BBM 5.0

Chris, what did you have to do to "provision" the device? I am unfimiliar with this procedure.

Glad you got yours up and running though!
settings-mobile network. hit the menu key and go to provision.
that should take care of you

I tried BBM5 on my 8320 Curve, but it sucked memory away like a Dirt Devil. I used for a few days, and battery pulls were the norm again, at least 3-4 a day. I just went back to the old BBM and see if everything works fine again.

It looks great though! I can't wait for the final version to be released!!!!

Since it's a constant running app it doesn't suprise me that it memory goes low on an 83xx Curve.
I can't wait for an official release either. But thank goodness I have a Bold meanwhile...

i had a few questions regarding going back to the old version of BBM...i am using the Curve 8900

first i back up everything on my PC, i tried installing the OS as you said my version in v4.6.1.101, so i assumed i had to download the associated one, i really don't want to change it (do i have to? and if so which version do you recommend) let's assume for now i don't do i need to download the OS Program from the link you provided? i did download it and it said Error Reading Setup Initialization File in this case what do i do?

i really don't want to change it at this point i want my old bbm back, do i just go ahead and delete the application and just go through desktop manager and restore everything??

Do i have to delete everything as if it were brand new and go back and restore??

Please help as i am not very good with fixing my bb
