I need some guidance recovering DM data (*ipd files Ithink). I took my zapped laptop to Micro Center, confirmed that the mother bd was shorted, and had them transfer the hard drive data to a portable drive. Purchased a new laptop and copied the recovered data to the new machine. Now I have 2 different prob's":
    1. I can't figure out how to get the old BBDM files positioned so I can access the latest one from BBDM. Looks like the cabinet files BACKUP* (no extension) have the bulk of the data and not the *.ipd files. How can I manipulate these files so I can get at the BBDM data with my new laptop & BBDM install?

    2. My BBDM in the new machine is only sporadically seeing the device, 9530, when I connect it. AARGH

Oh yes. I'm using Windows 7 on the new machine and was also on the old.

    Help will be greatly appreciated
    Tom

The default location for BlackBerry IPD files is Documents.

If you have upgraded from Windows XP, they will be in the directory My Documents.

I don't know why your USB connections is behaving strangely, it usually works or doesn't work. The USB drives are part of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager install.
