I went away on vacation and kept my blackberry compleatly shut off because of ROAMING.

**If you have your phone on and you dont use the internet or anything, does it cost you and does it cost to use bbm while your roaming?

    please don't TRIPLE post.

    This thread,
    Plus: random:bbm charges
.(3rd thread is in general discussion: bbm/roaming charges )
To answer your question, IF you kept your bb shut completely off and did not use it you should not have any roaming charges. But I think, if your away and get a bbm, email, tx etc-and open the msgs but not respond you still get charged for opening the msg. If I'm wrong someone will post & correct me

That is correct, if you even turn on your phone once and receive anything such as sms, bbm or calls it results in a roaming charge
