    So sorry for this topic... I know there are plenty of this on the board, but I just can't find one that works.

    I have an unlocked Bold 9700 with ATT and I do have a data plan.
    I can use the internet browser, BB messenger and Gtalk. But not my YM & Windows Live Messenger. Whenever I try to log in, it says "data services unavailable".

    My app version: 5.0.0.602
    Platform: 5.1.0.112

    The 3G sign is showing on the top screen.
    I've tried uninstalling/installing the app, removing the battery & SIM card, but they haven't worked so far.

    I'm kinda new to this, so for those BB expert out there, please help

    This can be tricky, but for a quick fix, contact your service provider.

    Ive seen this issue before and service provider will have you go through a few steps to fix it.

    From what I've read online so far, it seems like AT&T doesn't allow the user to use YM or WLM. Something to do with using the text messaging plan instead of the data plan. I've looked through the service book in my phone, and I don't see the ones for YM and WLM.

    I'll be sure to tall AT&T tomorrow.
