What's the main advantage of spending $ over native RIM IM apps (Gtalk, MSN, YM) ?

The only problem i have now is the MSN and Gtalk sometimes doesnt show all online contacts. My contacts sees me as online, but i am unable to see them.
Perhaps it is because i have a huge base of contact list in MSN??

Don't they have a free version of IM+? Search IM+ Lite in app world. You just have to deal with a couple of ads but they aren't annoying. I'm sure you know about it, but it's got all the messenger services you're talking about plus more. I've been using it and so far I haven't had any problems with it. Plus, it consolidates all your messenger accounts into one app.
Sorry, I realize that doesn't technically answer your question, but it's something to consider.
