I can't clear the blackberry message alert off my home screen on the blackberry curve - it says I have 1 new message and I don't - how do I clear this???

I tried to reset the phone by pulling the battery, but it doesn't work!

    Please help me out...

What does the alert look like??? Are you sure it's a message, or is it a SMS, or a App World notification???

It's a message from blackberry messenger. I checked and ended all chats, and still it shows the blue alert icon of a new message! So weird....

Let's make sure you know how to do a battery pull: Leave your device on, pull the battery for a full 20 seconds, put the battery back in and wait for you device to boot up... try this exactly as I described.

I thought you had to leave it out for sixty seconds? Huh, I guess a little extra time doesn't hurt...

20 seconds is good... any less and you might have issues that might stay in memory.

It might be a notification to upgrade your BBM....

I have tha same exact problem. I removed the battery as specified first for 20 sec, and then for 5 min. It doesn't work.

    Any other Ideas??!

    Thanks.

It can also be a friend request. Check under pending to see if there are any requests that you didn't approve as yet.

I tried the battery pull as you described, but it doesn't work.
I also re-installed blackberry messenger, but still it shows the alert of new message and I don't have any pending requests. So annoying..

    Any other ideas?

i had the same issue for the past couple of days, solution is re install your bbm. Delete first the current version from the options-advance options-application, reboot then re-install the latest version. Dont forget to backup your contacts! this will work for sure!

Usually when people recommend to reinstall an app, the first thing your should do is to delete the current version you have installed... then do a battery pull... then reinstall it.
