What were the people at RIM thinking when they designed the inbox supplied holster with the Bold 9700, they should have just given the regular pocket the had been giving for years over... what do you guys have to say about this?

I agree. The one I got with my Curve is much nicer. More elegant.
This one must be cheaper to produce...?

I prefer the belt clip case. I use it all the time at work.

I never carry my phone in my pocket. I already have one bulge in my pocket, I don't want another.

There are several types of holster that RIM provided,
    1. Belt clip case with upper cover (t-mobile)
    2. Belt clip without upper cover (at n t)
    3. Non belt clip model
Which one that u have? For me, I prefer the 3rd model. It looks nicer

I always keep a skin on my Bold 9700 to protect it. I use a Bold 9000 holster and the phone with the skin on it fits perfectly.

Don't really care about the case that came w/my 9700 as it was never used - My 9700 is either in an OB Commuter or OB Impact

im not sure the folded flap of leather with a couple of strips of fabric elastic does it justice tbh, my 8900 case is still the best out of all the cases ive seen.

Probably going to put a skin on it instead

I always use a belt clip, but I do think the one that came with my 9700 is the worst that I've used

well the standard one that comes is with out a clips and i prefer that one with out it as well. I guess it's going to be a Vaja retro pocket or a sena ultra slim one.

Is there a way to remove the belt clip from the holster. I wouldn't mind using it if it's possible to remove it.
