Hi, someone also sent me a link to BBM 5.0 and it deleted my bbm and now i cant get my old one back. My OS is 4.2. I tried the link you posted here and now I see it in my apps folder but not as an icon. How do I actually use it?

the reason you arent seeing the BBM is because you are running 4.2. You should upgrade your OS to 4.5!! you are not only missing out on your BBM, but there is HTML emails and docs to go witht he update.

So download your DM and back up your phone and then upgrade your OS make sure to check BBM in the applications on the DM so it will show up. good luck.

Delete the bbm 5.0 from your applications list and then click on the link in this thread after you backup your contact list. It won't work from your computer, it only works from your phone.

SoberrySexxy thanks for helping others out...it is a job within it self. I've been doing it all day, but I know the feeling of being lost without your BBM.

Oh and don't forget to tell them once they delete 5.0 off their apps list they need to let there phone reboot THEN download from the OTA link!

This BBM 5.0 is a total disaster for people, I'm sure the next Beta anything that comes out people will wait to see if there is issues with it before installing. I mean links started appearing for BBM 5.0 and people just installed it without batting an eye, hence all the problems now...

Thinkamp- absolutely...and I appreciate you pointing those (very important steps out)! I can understand being frustrated when a phone is just not doing what you want it to do!"Lol! And sometimes working people just don't have the time right then to read through tons of posts. So I appreciate people like yourself!

follow this link Easy BlackBerry Backup | CrackBerry.com
after you have read all of that and understood it delete BBM 5.0 off your apps list.
Also when you are about to do your update to 4.5 make sure in the applications list on the Desktop mananger you Click BBM and anything else you want.

And no, you cannot update your OS OTA, you have to use DTM. Follow the directions in the OS post for your particular device.
