Remember with OZ, you pay using text messages, and not data. At least that's how it is on T-Mobile...

Do you know where I can download OZ messenger

Jivetalk still owns them all in my mind, and the preproduction version (1.0.1) is still free, uses your data plan and allows for file transfer.

where can you download 1.0.1? I haven't been able to find it. With my luck it's probably obvious, and I'm just missing it.

Sorry, even though the link does in fact download and install 1.0.1, it appears that when you have to download a license key it is only an evaluation that does expire. In addition, while testing the application it crashed on me when I tried to test the Send File feature. Looks like we now need to use the production version for the trial period and purchase it if you like it.

I downloaded the Jivetalk Preview 1.0.1...

It works perfectly... The issue i got over here is that im scared it charges me extra for using the messenger.

If i end up leaving my msn account on jivetalk activated all day, will run for free under the monthly subscription that I am paying? Please help me, this is rather urgent...!!

I'm not sure what you are asking here? If you are asking "will my communication provider charge me if I log in?" the answer is yes! In basic terms, Jivetalk sends/receives data when you are logged in. It may not be a lot of data (I'm not sure how much traffic is generated if you're not active in a conversation) but it will definitely be sending/receiving SOME data to/from your MSN account (or Yahoo! or whatever you are logged into).

Bottom line is that if you're worried about your provider charging you for this, you probably shouldn't have Jivetalk on your BB. I would guess that everybody here that uses Jivetalk has some sort of monthly data allowance (whether it's a finite amount or unlimited) and as such, they are not concerned about how much data is being sent when they are simply logged in. As an example, I stay logged into Jivetalk, send/receive a bunch of email, use the web and my monthly data usage for EVERYTHING is around 30MB (sometimes more, sometimes less) which is well within the 50MB/month I'm given on t-mobile.

If you read the Terms of Service, they reserve the right to start charging for it at a later time. It appears to be free for the time being because they're beta testing it. I'm going to give it a shot and let ya'll know how it is.
