    - better GUI (graphic user interface) than 4.6; but not as good as
    - very stable and short boot time (after battery pull)
    - almost no memory leak
    - problems, problems, problems in reboot loop
    - the best GUI ever
    - longer boot time than .238
    - sometimes reboots either during phone operation or idle
    - memory leak is more serious than .238

So, eventually, I downgraded back to

    Updated on December 15, 2009:
    - The best 5.0 beta OS
    - Very stable (never have had any reboots since upgraded; note that I have a few reboots with
    - Almost no memory leaks
    - Light battery consumption
    - Conclusion: I recommend this build for Bold9000 users.

Good comparision! However, I never had reboot problems with any of the OSs... so I'm on the latest....

I had reboot problems on .314 with it rebooting about once a day. For me .348 is very stable so far, I've had two unexpected reboots, both while using Opera Mini 5, and no others. Currently up for 66 hours without a reboot.

Battery life was pretty awful on .314 as well, but back somewhere close to normal on .348.

I'm am on SFR (French Vodafon) and few of my past appreciations on the leaks are:
    - Appreciate the new GUI, especially with threaded SMS.
    - Very stable but the sound status icon sometimes refuses to change.
    - Not too bad but regular reboots
    - Great new GUI and very stable overall but sometimes SMS refuses to be sent, showing "Retries exceeded" error message. Back to .238

Go for .348/314 if you're in an area with good 3G coverage and you use 3G exclusively.

.238 for those people who rely heavily on EDGE.

Being on EDGE will throw you in reboot after reboot on the newer builds, but 3G battery consumption has improved greatly as well so the main benefit of EDGE is at least somewhat touched upon.

Does anyone know how to read the reboot frequency (or reboot history) in the log?

I called up the log by press "Alt LGLG", but the log is so long and doesn't know if there is a reboot history. Thanks!

Been on 348 since it was leaked. It has been great but I have noticed some serious memory leak now a days. Say I start the day with 37mb after a reset, and I will be at 10-12mb by the end of the day. I haven't noticed any other problems with 348. Never had these problems on 238.

  9. digitalb0y's Avatar is stable but lacks the cool new default theme. Copying the files for the theme from newer builds is an option. has problems with 2G and will cause random reboots, but disabling 2G fixes this. Has the new theme and pretty new icons, but has the new memory leakage too. 3G reception and battery life are greatly improved. Missing VVM, but that can be copied from .238. won't even get booted up all the way to the homescreen if you have an AT&T SIM card in the device. The radio from this build can be copied over the one in .314 for a performance increase and fewer 2G reboots.

These builds are nice looking and most app compatibility is ironed out now, but I still recommend reading the warnings in the beta discussion forum before installing any of the three of them.

    - New and improved UI over the 4.6 builds
    - Threaded sms albeit the "bold" unread sms. Manually fixed by marking as read. Annoying, but issue solved
    - Working BBM 5 with OS 5
    - New & improved UI with gradient blue shading
    - Random reboots start after close to 20hrs using it. Tried all the suggestions, but the reboots just won't go away
    - Rollback to .238
    - Improved alarm. Hovering over the numbers, BB can now detect it as a number, so no more pressing alt to set alarm
    - Reboots start after 8hrs, even when charging
    - Rollback to .238

Don't load if you are on AT&T Network. Search the forum. Tons of discussion about it. I found out the hardway. Now I'm back to Reboot once in a while but not bad. Reboot all the time. Can't even use it. :-(

Has anybody else found that if you try and add new dates into the calendar the phone locks and needs a battery pull ?? and that it won't keep blackberry apps installed??

.238 is very solid for me

    .314 had reboots 3-4 times/hr. Not happy.

.348 initially slow and laggy with the occasional reboot. It also had huge battery drain after a reboot. So I rolled back to .238 for a few days. I decided to uninstall and delete .348, redownloaded and installed it on pc and BB, now it's perfect and I'm loving it.
