I am giving BBM a try as opposed to the regular 9700 messaging app. I have added several contacts to BBM. The folks whom I regularly SMS are not BB users. I am receiving texts in the BBM app as well as the native SMS app. Is this expected? If none of my regular SMS contacts use a Blackberry, there is no reason for me to use BBM. Am I correct? Please instruct. Thanks!

BBM is the native Blackberry messaging app. SMS is the native Cell Phone messaging app. You can not combined, or disabled SMS in favor of BBM. You can combine your SMS and MMS messages in your Messages icon, but not BBM.

So I guess if I add some contacts to BBM, I will still get some SMS messages in BOTH apps (BBM and native SMS app). I wish there were a way to receive ALL SMS messages in BBM only.
