Does anyone know if it will work? I am with AT&T and heading over soon with a Curve 8900 and plan on keeping my service activated if it works. Any help will be appreciated.......(BALAD)

Using a Wi-Fi connection is probably your best bet. You are still activated on your service so it's all good.

BBM will work anywhere where you have a proper data plan so
it sounds like you are good to go.

I would unlock it first. When I was in Iraq (Al Anbar near Syria), my at&t didn't exist, but a Syriatel simcard worked just fine. Of course, getting a Syriatel card is tricky, since someone has to go get it for you. Good luck, and practice ducking

Here is the website for Syriatel..Syriatel Postpaid

Also, this looks promising (but I didn't find a country listing) http:/http://www.roamforce.com/for-s...im-cards.html/

I also got a Thuraya prepaid satellite phone, and had card numbers emailed to me from home when i need to refresh. a little expensive but I could call from ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.
