Is a BBM message the same as a PIN that it bypasses the corporate server?

From what I understand, corporate can not read pin messages. I had two people tell me this when I asked why all the pin messages. Both using corporate phones.

Nice. Good to know, if it's true.

That isn't true, PIN and BBM are both logged on the BES if activated.

PIN message is a device to device message, and is great for use in broadcast internal messages especially when Exchange goes down or is being upgraded.

BBM is an IM chat tool that uses PIN channels to send the messages.
