Prior to downloading BBM5, i had roughly 31mb of memory, but now with BBM5, i start with just 17mb of memory.

Anyone else had the same thing happen?

I've heard a couple of people say the same thing. Have you done a battery pull?

Yeah, it seems to be a common issue. Can someone please post a link for BBM 5?

Wow you must have alot of apps to start with just that even with Bbm 5. Maybe you've got loads of themes on your device?
I noticed a drop in memory after installing Bbm5 but only about 3-4mb. Which OS you running??

I have noticed a small decrease after updating but I feel that is due to the large size and not a leak.

actually im quite the opposite, i have purchased only 1 app, which is the callblocker.

im running 4.7.0.167 on the storm

I had callblocker and noticed a huge memory and battery drain from it. I ran a test with no other apps, did a battery pull and made sure I had a full charge before bed. In the morning I was Dow program is always running in the background waiting for a call to block. That could be your issue. I also have not seen too much of an impact on app memory from. BBM 5 other than the size.

i still feel that its a bit strange how prior to the update even with the callblocker, i still managed 31mb. Its all merely cosmetic though, cuz my phone is still working fine. i just got a lil concerned cuz its almost lik a half drop.

I noticed it too but only if I am constantly using it. Also its a major battery drain.

I had a huge drain after installing it the first day it came out. I deleted it and redownloaded it and now everything is as stable as before.

It's not a leak, it may be using a bit more memory. I haven't noticed really any difference.

And as far as the battery goes, I had a good laugh on that. It hasn't affected my battery one bit.

I went from starting the day at about 48 mb and going down to no lower than 38. After bbm 5.0 I start at 44 and my memory goes down anywhere between 26-31 mb- this is all in a 12 hour period. Big time memory leak! not to mention the rest of my phone is getting affected by it with LOTS more freezing up...irritating!

I downloaded bbm5 a few days ago and RARELY use it, only with 1 contact. Before bbm5 I started out with about 49mb of memory and it did drop 3-4mb upon install which I expected...BUT with minimal use (I only used it once today and sent about 3 msgs on it) I get a drop of about 10mb a day. By the end of the day I'm at around 33mb...which doesn't affect my phone at all, but I've never had this kind of mem leakage...before this with LOTS of browser or app use I'd still only drop 4-5mb. I've deleted and re-installed with the same result. I also downgraded for 1 day, but really do like bbm5, so i upgraded again. What's causing this and how can I stop it? I'm on an 8330 with v4.5 OS. It's annoying more than anything.

I've noticed a large drop from like high 30s to low 20s BUT, it is still running faster and cleaner than before. I think maybe it's just the OS size???
