I have used the search function and google but couldn't find anything. Why do people say that the Police can monitor BBM 5.0.1.38? Is there any truth to it? Isn't it an invasion of privacy? And would it matter what country you lived in?

not sure the police need the BBM to monitor people's activity....if you're connected to a network, big brother is watching.

just download the new update and have fun with it...nothing to worry about

I'm not worried. I already have the new version. I just here other people going on about it.

Sounds like an urban myth to me.
For RIM to allow anyone outside of RIM to monitor BBM traffic without some type of warrant would get them sued into oblivion for violation of privacy rights.

Funny how as soon as they decided to give the UAE the encryption keys BBm is crewed. And every link to the old messenger had totaley vanished . Why is that?
