    same problem as DXBLouie

i upgraded to os 6 on 9700 6.0.0.344 which has app world 2.0.1.12 pre installed
i tried to delete it and reinstall 2.0.0.36 which works on wifi (tried to downgrade from 2.0.1.12 to 2.0.0.36) but no luck.
after i load the appworld 2.0.0.36 using javaloader on command prompt, and the phone restarts i cant locate the appworld icon on my blackberry

Sadly i was able to load the appworld v 1.0.23 and the icon shows on my BB9700 but this version no longer works. i even tried to re upgrade from 1.0.23 to 2.0.0.36 but no luck either

    Help is much appreciated

Having the same problem as Ahmeto. Installed OS6 on my Bold 9700 but could not get app world to work since I'm in an unsupported country.
I ended up reinstalling OS 5.
has anyone found a way to install App world 2.0.0.36 on OS6?

first i removed the pre-installed app-world.. installed 2.0.0.36 and the icon didn't show up
    tried again, no difference.
i removed it with BBSAK and installed 1.1.0.23.. and this one works with Wifi on, GSM off
looks outdated, but seems to work

Did you do this on OS6? On what kind of BB device?
Where can I get app world 1.1.0.23?

    Regards.
    Edit: I found it here
    Will try now.

I have Bold 9700 with OS6. 2.0.0.36 does not show up as an icon but if you uninstall it and install 1.1.0.24 it will work fine.

I now have App World 2.0.0.36 running on my Bold 9700, and I live in Denmark which is not on the list of countries that can get BlackBerry App World. (BlackBerry App World Availability)

I would like to share my success with all of you others, so I made this little guide.

    You need BBSAK (download)

Cod files for App World 2.0.0.36 (download)

Connect your BlackBerry to your PC and start BBSAK and make a "read system and remove all old files that have something to do with App World 1.1.0.35.

Afterwards, choose "install cods" and here you must use the new cod files that you have downloaded from the above link.

Your BlackBerry will now reboot, and afterwards you will find the App World 2.0.0.36 on your Blackberry! You can now start App World and use the free apps and the paid apps!!

You will discover that the App World may write that it does not work in your country when you start it! This is because RIM has made a Country/Carrier check in the new App World 2.0. Then you simply have to turn your phones network off and only have wifi enabled when you use the App World.

That was my little guide .. Good luck out there.

    Update..
You can now install Blackberry App World from Blackberry Desktop Manager. (download)
Thanks to em4all for making the appworld.alx file.
Tried it on my new Pearl 9105 3G, and it didnt work, so i wondered if there was any update on this issue... Thank's

    Works great for me!

I just wait for somebody to hack this carrier check and bypass it so that we won't have to turn it on/off all the time. It's a shame RIM has this kind of control which distinguishes it's customers from Lucky/Unlucky ones. We all pay the same (maybe we pay more in some cases) to have the same piece of hardware.

    Anyway ...

Thanks for sharing this post dude!!

    This worked for me.

I have a Blackberry 8900. With Version 5.0.0.681. With AT&T. With no Data Plan (BIS). Just WiFi.

I installed Blackberry Desktop Software. Then I deleted the App from inside the phone, then wheh it restarted, I opened it up. Then I imported the alx file. And it installed and rebooted fine. Now its working good.

I used the alx, using the Desktop Software, not BBSAK.

    Thank you VERY MUCH!

The BB App World is now available in Denmark without the trick mentioned #1. Check the availability list here:

if you plug your BB to the PC and fire up blackberry desktop, under applications does it show blackberry appworld installed? or does it show a + sign (to install it)?

also under the application management on the BB, do you see BlackBerry App World, or do you see something like net_rim_bb_appworld?

    Hello,

I have implemented all the steps you had listed, but the one thing that I can't find is an icon of App World itself.

When my Blackberry reboots, I can't find any button for Blackberry AppWorld in any folder that I open. (even though I can see in "Application Management" that it was actually installed and I can see something like net_rim_bb_appworld? )

My phone is Bold 9700, iOS is 6.0

Can you please help with this?
Thanks a lot and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

If you have a data plan, that would be the only other way.
