It's what makes android apps work. That's all it does. It's quite a lot if you think about it though.

Yes, all BB10 phones come with it.

The Android Runtime is a partition in the BlackBerry 10 OS that makes the phone capable of running Android apps. It helps the device by giving it the ability to run Android apps in its own separate 'app'.

Does it mean that I can directly install android files on the BlackBerry device? Without all that conversion. Of apk to bar

That is coming in the 10.2.1 update

Here's a screenshot of what happens when you download an apk file

    And installation

This enables you to download Android app stores like the Amazon app store, 1Mobile, Aptoide, Mobogenie and more(Google Play doesn't work yet) to get your apks and install them on the device directly. There is also a native developed app by a CrackBerry member that gives you the ability to download apps directly from Google Play Store itself (the app has to be sideloaded as you can't directly install bar files).

I have a question I never download BlackBerry runtime for Android and now it appears on my BlackBerry World like I have installed it. Should I keep it installed?

    Keep it
It looks like BlackBerry forced it on everyones device. Some think they might start updating the runtime that way, separately from OS updates

    That only works on 10.2.1.

    And welcome to the forums!
