In my application list on the 8830, I have:
    BB Messenger v. 4.5.0
    BB Messenger v. 5.0.0.33

Am I supposed to have both of these apps?

    I wouldn't think so.

What OS do you have, out of curiousity?

    v4.5.0.138

I transferred from a Curve 8330 (which I had downloaded the v5) to the WE8830. Thing is, I believe the v4.5 is the app I'm running. I can't figure out where the v5 went to. I'm also having a terrible time with the memory.

    Thanks for the help.

If I were you, I'd delete both and re-install the one you want.

OP cannot use that version, it is designed for 4.7 OS and higher.

Ok, with 2 BBMs onboard, you need to delete them. Your memory is gonna be snafu with 2 on the 8830.

Part of the problem is you went from a device with 96Mb of RAM to a device with 64Mb, meaning less room for apps. And based on your memory problem, if you're running Facebook, be prepared to lose it, because it eats 64Mb devices.

Here are links to 5.0.0.33, BBM. and for 4.5 BBM http://yourcbcfamily.org/bb/curvebbm/bbm.jad

You'll need to pick one and delete the ones on your 8830. You'll probably want to load the 5, as you can recover your contacts if you backed them up using remote or media card.

Once you reload, using 5, go to BBM Menu>Options and restore your contacts.

You hit the nail on the head. I was having a hard time understanding why I couldn't download any new apps.

I deleted both of the BBM apps. I tried loading the v5 BBM but I keep getting errors. I'll uninstall FB and see if that helps.

    Thanks.

You'll wanna do a Battery Pull prior to attempting to download the BBM again. It will not let you load that app without sufficient file free memory, usually above 10 MB, possibly as high as 12. Same thing happened with my wife's 8130.

I have 9.9 mb free now. Guess I'm about to the limit on apps I can run.

Yep. The form factor of the WE is nice, but the RAM really bites.
