Wondering if Nokia HERE Maps will work on BlackBerry 10.3+ OS.

http://www.androidcentral.com/nokia-...ng-smartphones - looks like an interesting alternative to Google Maps (which is a pain to install due to dependency on Google Play/Google Servcies/Google Login). So, it'd be cool to be able to install Google Maps alternative.

BlackBerry Maps are good too - I use them a lot. But these Nokia Here maps also have public-transit directions and more.

Good hands-on review here: Hands-on with Nokia's Here Maps for Android

Sure, you can also use Google Maps or Nokia Maps through browser already but voice-direction is missing. It's not as convenient to use like it'd be if it were a working-app.

If they are anything like the version I had on my Nokia Lumia 822, that ARE quite good! Do they work on 10.2? Or do you get a message about Google Services?

It is probably DRM protected to ensure it's running on a Samsung

Samsung is trying to cut the cord with Google and so made a deal with Nokia.

    Oh man ...
i was totally looking forward to Nokia Here. Tried it on my Nexus Tablet and it's just great!
It has everything i ever wanted, runs so fast, hast public-transit included, etc... (Ok, bicycle is missing, but ok)

And no, Navfree is not really and solution ( well it's OK) but by far not so intuitive and misses public-transit

They released the beta apk for every device running android 4.1 and above. Tried it on 10.3.1.821, it spit out a message saying that this app cannot run on this device.

    I've got 10.3.1.1016 working on my Q10.

    Browsed to www.here.com/beta/android
Most detailed info I've seen, about an app. Samsung phone not required, just Android 4.1 and above.

Doesn't ask what device you have. Downloaded, and HERE_beta_220.apk is saved to Device/downloads (where other .apk files I've downloaded with Snap are stored.

Clicking on the file starts 'processing'.

Then have HERE Beta screen with version 1.0.0.220 and BlackBerry Guardian report

Opening the file causes it to run, and there's a "HERE Beta" icon added.

There was no message about the app cannot run on this device.
    44
But when I press on the icon, it opens to a blank screen. Then when I minimize, it's labeled "HERE Beta". But only have a blank screen.

    Very sad...

For me maps stopped working after update to 10.3.1. On 10.2.2 (german version of 10.2.1) they were working fine. Even an "old" version of here.maps doesn't start anymore

Genius Mapping (just copy the apk for android) by Mireo uses Navteq Mapping which is Here mapping. Seems to work. Still Testing
